Dr. Johannes Bent

Academic Staff MemberJohannes Bent is a historian specializing in the cultural and intellectual history of Eastern and East Central Europe. He received his PhD from Tallinn University and Viadrina University, with the thesis studying the intellectual transfer processes between different Eastern and East Central European cultures of history during the interwar period. After completing his PhD studies, he worked at a German-Polish memorial side in Görlitz-Zgorzelec and at FernUniversität in Hagen. At the VCPU, Bent is currently preparing a postdoc project focussing on the history of socialist car cultures in Eastern and East Central Europe during the Cold War period.
